iSkeuos is a Prominently Designed Theme for iOS 7

February 15, 2014 — by Xin Chan0

It has been a very busy week in the jailbreak community with loads of new and updated tweaks and themes. Designers are very eager to tease and release their hot new themes for free or with affordable price tags. I am also very busy in trying out these tweaks and especially themes as I am getting bored for those updated from iOS 6 base or awaiting for new updates for those that I own for more icons and excitements. Recently iSkeuos designed by Paarth (a.k.a iPhoneiHelper) caught my attention on Cydia and Twitter.

The theme now supports over 135 icons that are crafted from the ground. It also comes with 5 nice wallpapers, Classicdock, mask, overlay and shadow. What is more, it also themes Safari App UI, Message bubbles, keyboard and gratefully Control Center toggles and other parts of it.

Winterboard User Wallpaper Not Working in iOS 5? Try This Fix

June 6, 2012 — by Simon Ng3

Many of us love to use Winterboard, a popular tweak on cydia to theme your iPhone. For some reasons, you may want to use your own wallpaper instead of the one bundled with the theme. Winterboard comes with a “User Wallpaper” feature that lets you replace the bundled wallpaper with your own. We have written a detailed guide showing you how to make use of the feature. However, as informed by some readers, this “User Wallpaper” feature doesn’t work in iOS 5.

Here is a fix if you find the “User Wallpaper” doesn’t work. The fix is simple. You can simply delete or rename the default “Wallpaper.png” of the Winterboard theme. I’ll use the “Suave” theme as an example to show you how to apply the fix. But the procedures should be similar for other themes.

The ability to customize your iPhone with theme is probably one of the major reasons you jailbreak the iPhone. There is no shortage of Winterboard theme in cydia. The problem, however, is it’s not easy to find your favorite one out of hundreds of iPhone themes. Browsing themes in cydia is sometimes considered as a tedious task. You have to tap through several buttons before you can preview a theme and usually the preview page is loaded with ads.

There is a good news for jailbroken iPhone owners. Earlier this week, Jay Freeman the developer of cydia has rolled out the Theme Center in cydia. Theme Center offers a much much better way to browse and download iPhone themes. If you have launched cydia in these two days, you probably notice a new “Themes” button on the Cydia frontpage.

iPhone Tip: How to Change Slide To Unlock to Tap To Unlock

February 26, 2010 — by Simon Ng11

Change to Tap to UnlockThe “Slide to Unlock” feature of iPhone changes the way we answer calls or unlock the phone. Before the debut of iPhone, we used to click on the “Answer” button to pick up a call. With iPhone, you use the slider to answer a call.

The slider is fancy and works pretty great. But I have heard from some iPhone users that they are looking for tweak or hack to switch back to the old way – Tap to unlock.

So, is there any way to change the “Slide to Unlock” back to “Tap to Unlock”?

With cydia, there is always a hack for that! If you would like to switch back to “Tap to Unlock”, simply download a hack called “Padlock Tap to Unlock” from cydia. The hack requires to have Winterboard installed. If you are a new user of Winterboard, you can check out this post about how to install and use Winterboard.
