Although, Facetime didn’t disconnect you entirely with the other person, your face or whatever it is that the camera is recording will appear as Paused.

Some users are fine with this because they will return back to Facetime right away. But the majority of iOS users want to multitask and so it will be beneficial if there is a way to prevents Facetime from pausing when you open any other app on your iPhone and iPad.

When a new firmware update is available to the public, everyone will prepare to install it on their iPhone or iPad. While most people have no problem doing so, many iOS users were unable to get the latest update because their device doesn’t have enough storage.

Over time, Apple has tried their best to reduce the firmware to the lowest possible capacity. A great example would be the upcoming iOS 9, it only weight as much as 1.3GB, which is a huge improvement. If there is not enough space for this, then you need to do some serious clean up.

Unlike most viruses, this malware only infected those with jailbroken iPhone and iPad. Specifically, anyone that added shady repository and download pirated jailbreak tweaks are most likely to already have this malware running inside their device. From personal experiences and different research, we found that if you stay away from any illegal packages and Cydia sources, then you are safe from this.

SafariSearchHider Tweak Lets You Hide History Searches in Normal Safari

September 4, 2015 — by Hawon Nguyen0

There are several reasons why someone would want to enable the Private Browsing feature on their iPhone or iPad. Most commonly, it’s to protect themselves from advertising agencies because most browsers including our stock browser, Safari, track our data for ads purposes. Another good example would be to avoid others from violating their privacy.

The default settings in Safari store all the websites and searches that users went to and allows them to easily get access to that information just in case they close all the tabs. Last but not least, auto-fill data, this feature is somewhat helpful as it automatically enters our login credential to a website, only if you’ve done so previously.

September 2, 2015 — by Hawon Nguyen0

Apple operating system is well-known for its robust security and so on rare cases we see an iPhone or iPad being hacked. In the past, there were several incidents where hackers steal revenue by injecting their scripts to iOS devices and most recently over 220,000 iCloud accounts and passwords were stolen. Just because the iPhone operating system is really good when it comes to protecting you from malicious malware, that doesn’t mean it’s unbreakable.

A recent research from Palo Alto networks has discovered a new piece of malware called KeyRaider that aims at jailbroken users and their devices. This malware allows the hackers to steal Apple’s iCloud accounts. As up to this point, statistics showed that KeyRaider has helped hackers steal over 250,000 Apple accounts. These iCloud accounts do not just based in the U.S but also in many different countries where iPhone and iPad are popular, including China, Australia, France, Germany, South Korea, Singapore, and many more.

August 29, 2015 — by Hawon Nguyen0

Through many iOS releases, major or minor, Apple still hasn’t bothered to change its lockscreen interface. The design and its functionality remain the same even though the company did modernize it a little bit to live up with the design standards. Earlier this month, we saw a post on Jailbreak sub-Reddit about a redesigned lockscreen interface made by a former Apple employee. Of course, everyone has to love it and sure enough someone decided to come up with a jailbreak tweak that integrate these features into our iOS devices.

A recently released tweak called FutureLock is here to turn the concept into reality. With that being said, let’s dive into it and see what’s so special and cool about this package.

CameraTweak Adds Exciting Features To Stock Camera App

October 31, 2012 — by Sette Capati0

You should check out this cool jailbreak tweak that allows you to take photos with advanced features similar to a digital camera. Developer Samball’s CameraTweak gives us advanced camera options we can take wherever we go.

CameraTweak Cydia

The stock Camera app provides us quality photos, yet it lacks some features such as the timer and independent reticles for exposure and focus. However, with CameraTweak, you’ll enjoy additional features such as advanced mode, time lapse mode, countdown timer and composition overlays in the camera mode. On the other side, you can also use the advanced mode, custom frame rate, resolution, and aspect ratio for video recording.

Take note: The CameraTweak works best with iPhone devices. Make sure your device is jailbroken. As of this writing, there’s a tethered jailbreak version for iOS 6 A4 Devices.

Camera app options:

Advanced Mode

The advanced mode is available both in Camera and Video recording. This mode allows users to swap out the combined exposure and focus reticles for two separate reticles. The other reticle can be locked independently by a tap and long hold.

Time Lapse Mode

The name speaks for itself. This mode allows users to take a series of shots over a specific time interval. You can configure the preset lapse between 1 to 60 seconds or 1 to 60 minutes.

Timer Mode

I wonder why the stock Camera app has no timer even the new line of models lack this feature. To access a countdown timer, you need to install a third party-app such as the Camera +. But with CameraTweak, the feature is already integrated in the Camera app. You can configure the time between 1 and 60 seconds.

Composition Overlays

The Composition Overlay feature has additional layouts aside from the stock 9 block grid. You can configure this option at the lower right side of the screen.

Video Options:

Custom Frame Rate

This feature is only available in Video mode. Users can set the frame rate between 1 and 60 frames per second.

You can set the resolution of the video according to your preference. High definition videos will require large space on your iOS device. The iPhone only support the 720p at its best.

  • Low (3G transfer)
  • Medium (wifi transfer)
  • 352×288, 648×480 (VGA)
  • 960×540, 1280×720 (720p HD)
  • 1920×1080 (full HD)

Overall, the CameraTweak is one of the best tweaks I found on Cydia. It’s perfect for photographers and enthusiasts. It’s available on Cydia for only $0.99.

The verdict: We give the CameraTweak a 5 star-rating.

Tell us what you think about the tweak on comment section below.
