FutureLock is Certainly the Best Lock Screen Tweak for iOS 8

August 29, 2015 — by Hawon Nguyen0

Through many iOS releases, major or minor, Apple still hasn’t bothered to change its lockscreen interface. The design and its functionality remain the same even though the company did modernize it a little bit to live up with the design standards. Earlier this month, we saw a post on Jailbreak sub-Reddit about a redesigned lockscreen interface made by a former Apple employee. Of course, everyone has to love it and sure enough someone decided to come up with a jailbreak tweak that integrate these features into our iOS devices.

A recently released tweak called FutureLock is here to turn the concept into reality. With that being said, let’s dive into it and see what’s so special and cool about this package.

Patience is a Great iOS Winterboard Theme to Expect This Month

April 21, 2014 — by Xin Chan3

I have been out of touch with the blog for over a month but it does not mean that I am away from the community, particularly trying out new cool themes. And recently I got myself hands on a cool theme called Patience

Patience is brand new WinterBoard theme for iPhone that is currently in beta. It is co-created by two famous designers in the community Zooropalg from France and iPix from the UK. The theme comes with a handful of packages and add-ons and with both iPhone and iPad support. There will also be many features upcoming in the final release in Cydia that provides users with extensive way to customise their device.

GridSwitcher Enables Grid View for iOS 7 App Switcher

March 1, 2014 — by Xin Chan0

Apple redesigned how the App Switcher looks like and act in iOS 7 with inspirations from certain classic jailbreak tweaks like CardSwitcher and the old boring bottom grey switcher has gone. But have you ever been bothered with iOS 7 for scrolling through all the way to the left and right to get to certain page in the App Switcher? Or have you been annoyed with the narrow iPhone screen that is only able to display a little bit more than one app card? Unfortunately it is not easy to go back to iOS 6 classic app switcher easily now.

GridSwitcher is new jailbreak tweak from tom-go that changes the stock iOS 7 horizontal card switcher view to a grid view. It has no option to configure. Once installed you are good to use.

CCSliders Tweak: Tap to Change Brightness Sliders in CC to Other

February 26, 2014 — by Xin Chan0

We have been seeing a lot of tweaks that puts additional functions to the ControlCenter. You can remove seperator lines; you can add more toggles; you can hide sections that you may never use like AirDrop; you can ever colorize the UI of the ControlCenter. But seems that there is one thing that has not been touched – the sliders for brightness. It is the one left with one and only one function.

Like myself I usually hide the media control I cannot get access to the volume control of playing music without pressing the buttons. With CCSliders, developed by Jerry En, the same developer of QuickActivator, which is recently released on his private repo, I am able to use multiple sliders within taps.

Preview: GuestMode Allows Limited Guest Access to Your iPhone

February 7, 2014 — by Xin Chan0

If you have kids or family members that share the usage of your iPhone, the very first concern is fear of getting your important or private stuff messed up or deleted. There are some security tweaks like AppLocker or BioProtect that can block apps or settings access with password or TouchID protections. But the key issue is the setting is global. It also locks you down from getting in protected areas even though you can unlock it. It is annoying and time consuming.

In Android Kitkat and Windows we know we can set multiuser or guest accesses. But what about iOS? Good news here is GuestMode, an upcoming jailbreak allows you to do so.

QuickContacts: Access your Favorite Contacts at Spotlight

February 2, 2014 — by Xin Chan0

So iOS 7 brings in a new gesture of accessing the Spotlight Search interface by holding and pulling down the homesceeen page which is quite cool rather than swiping to the leftmost. But if you are like me that don’t ever use this functionality, you will find it quite annoying and useless with Spotlight Search popping up when you scroll through springboard pages.

The jailbreak community has been aware of this and recently we have NoSpot updated for iOS 7. But it does not mean they dismissed opportunity to leverage on this special gesture. It can be useful.

MultitaskingGestures Brings Back Zephyr Gestures to iOS 7

February 1, 2014 — by Xin Chan0

No doubt that Zephyr is one of the most useful tweaks in iOS 6 ages and many cannot just have it missing on their jailbroken device. At that time it is a must to have it installed. However It has not yet been updated for iOS 7 and also been said that there is little chance that Zephyr would be updated for such due to significant overhaul on this firmware and it breaks how we can manipulate on gesture controls on app closing multitasking.

If you find it very painful to press on your valuable home button and too cumbersome (or annoying) to use the AssistiveTouch, now the new jailbreak tweak MultitaskingGestures developed by Hamza Sood bring back some of the Zephyr gestures.

Colorize Control Center with Uniformity

January 29, 2014 — by Xin Chan1

Uniformity is a brand new jailbreak tweak developed by pNre that has been released for around a day in a beta form. I have accidentally found this when I refreshed Cydia last night and I have already had the developer’s beta repo in advance. It has already gained over 1500 downloads over the night. It has been proven to be a great tweak due to its popularity.

What it does is basically allowing you to customize the color scheme and appearance of you Control Center. You can change the color of the toggles at normal (turning off) and switched on. You can also change the background tint color to whatever you like or match with the Notification Center style.

Enhance Your Music App Experience with Pluck and ColorFlow

January 27, 2014 — by Xin Chan0

There have been quite a few tweaks that changes how the stock Music App such as BlurredMusicApp that gives you an automatic semi-transparent blurry app background. But that is simply not enough to make it stand out and look a lot better.

On another side on app usage, the major problem for me is that, if you are an iPhone 5s user with TouchID enabled, you will need to put your finger on the sensor, unlock your phone, go into the Music App and choose the song that you want to play and loop. This is quite annoying, but there are some work-arounds like CleverPin but still, you need to slide to unlock the phone.

So today I am going to introduce you to two cool Cydia tweaks that I recently love to solve the concerns I mentioned above.
