I love using the stock Messages app on my iPhone because it was designed with simplistic in mind. I mean the overall appearance is sleek, it’s easy to use, and you can choose either iMessage or the traditional SMS. Back in the day, I’m talking about iOS 7, there was a jailbreak tweak called biteSMS that brings tremendous improvements to our iPhone and iPad Messages.app.
One of my favorite feature from that package was the ability to quickly switch between SMS and iMessage. In other words, you don’t have to go go the Settings app, locate the Messages tab, and turn iMessage on/off. Unfortunately, biteSMS hasn’t been updated since then but some of its functionality were adopted by other tweaks.
Recently, someone released SwitchService, a free tweak on Cydia that does that I just described earlier, letting you easily and quickly choose between iMessage and SMS right from the Message app. When you compose a new message or ready to send the message, just tap and hold on the Send button until you see the new option.
If SwitchService is something you have been looking forward to, go on Cydia and add this source: http://repo.ioscreatix.com. The tweak works great and even included a preference panel within the Settings app for your to configure.
You can call me a geek, blogger, jailbreaker, or anything you want. Just know that I love to write about All Things Apple, Cydia tweaks, and Jailbreak Guides.
