We have seen many popular web browsers make its ways to the mobile devices like iOS and Android. However, something that a lot of people are waiting for is the official Firefox browser for iPhone and iPad. Mozilla, the team behind Firefox has announced that they’re working on Apple’s Firefox back in December of last year. Recently, a selected number of beta testers were able to get their hand on the beta version and we think that it’s stable enough for Mozilla to release their first public preview to normal users.
With that being said, FireFox Public Preview for iOS is now available for download. But there is a little catch, though, the application is currently downloadable for those in New Zealand only. Of course, it will be released worldwide in a couple of days. For now, you can check out some of the outstanding features in Firefox.

Firefox also provides you with its Intelligent Search, that means you can choose your own search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, Twitter, Amazon, and more. Along with that is Firefox Accounts, where you can integrate your current Firefox accounts and sync everything from history, tabs, bookmarks, etc from a desktop browser to your iOS device or the other way around.
Last but not least, one of the most important element of every browser, the tabs feature. Firefox has a visual tabs with a grid-based style, making it supper easy to view multiple tabs at once without having to swipe up and down.
That is all we know right now from the screenshots above. As noted from a blog post earlier today, the Mozilla team said that they want to bring the best browsing experience to Apple’s iOS and the purpose for this very first public preview is to collect feedback from users.
Our goal is to create a great browsing experience for iOS with Firefox. With this first public preview we will be collecting feedback in one country, before we extend availability to get feedback in a few more countries prior to a full public launch.
If you happen to live in New Zealand, don’t wait any longer and go to your App Store and download Firefox Public Preview for iOS or click here. Let us know which one is your favorite browsers: Safari, Chrome, or Firefox.
