Most iPhone photo editing apps have the option of applying filters to images. As a result, the App Store is saturate with photo filter apps, and every new release needs something out of the ordinary to distinguish itself from the usual (black and white).

Priime manages to stand out in this arena by offering filters that are inspired by the leading photographers in the world. It offers our different styles to choose from, with an in-app purchase of $0.99 required for an additional style. It also features tools for configuring brightness, vignette and saturation or the image, as well as rotation options.

How to use Priime for iPhone

Open the app after installing it on your device and choose an image from the camera roll. There is no photo capture in the app, so you have to use a third party app or the default camera app to capture images. The design is similar to that of Instagram, with most of the screen occupied by the image and tools displayed at the bottom.

You can swipe through different filters via the styles tool, and see the photography styles inspired by a particular photographer. ‘All’ contains all filters that have a price tag and ‘My Styles’ contain all filters that are free. It is only possible to apply one filter at one time.

Users can also utilize the Adjust tool to configure shadows, vignette, warmth, saturation, and other options. The Compose tab can be used to rotate a photo, straighten it, or zoom on it. In the Adjust tab, you can swipe through all the options to access and view them.

Lastly, the app can overwrite the original image, save the one that was created as a copy, and export to Instagram as well as other applications. The end result is higher quality photos with maximum resolution editing up to 36 megapixels, or even higher.

Final remarks

If you were looking for something new in a photo editor, this is the app that should be on your device. It also enables you to save photos in-place, meaning that you have to deal with less copies of edits in the Camera Roll. For $9.99, you can access all the 66 filters offered by the app.

You can download Priime free of cost from the App Store. It works on iOS 8.1 and above. Let us know if you give it a try and feel free to leave comments.
