Redcam App: Add Unique Filters To Videos On iOS

Photo filters have been quite popular over the years on iOS and now several different app offerings exist based on this functionality. Such apps use their variety of filters to set themselves apart and some even include a social aspect providing people an option to share the photos on the app’s network.

Instagram took it to a whole new level by enabling people to add filters to videos but the length of the video remained limited. That’s where the app we’re going to talk about shortly comes in. It goes by the name Redcam and it allows you to record videos quickly and presents a load of editing options.

How to Use Redcam for iOS

After installing the application, tap the film reel button at the left bottom. This enables you to see all videos recorded with the app. Then you can tap the button that’s labelled ‘+’ at the top to access the videos from your camera roll.

Next, choose the video to select it; it should be highlighted by a yellow border. The filter icon at the bottom right can be tapped to choose one from the many filters available. While you can only add one filter at the time, you can select a video and apply a second filter to it after the app has processed the filter you’ve picked.

After you’ve gotten the desired results, you can export the final file to the camera roll. The app’s crop feature is also worth a mention – it enables you to crop the video to 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, and 3:2 sizes. You can select what color should be the border of the video.

When it comes to the app’s recording functionality, it’s quite decent. It works well when you use this functionality instead of the default camera and allows you to stop and start recording by tapping anywhere on the screen.

Final thoughts

So if you’ve been looking for a convenient tool to work with videos, this is the app you should be using.

You can download Redcam free of cost from the App Store. It works on iOS 8.0 and above. Let us know if you give it a try.
