iOS 6.1.3 Released and Put an End to Evasi0n Jailbreak

Apple has released iOS 6.1.3 to fix the lockscreen passcode vulnerability that was discovered last month and widely reported by the press. According to the release note, the update also brings improvements to Maps in Japan.

For regular iPhone and iPad users, you can simply go to Settings -> General -> Software Update to upgrade to the latest version of iOS. Alternatively, you can also connect your device to iTunes and apply the update.

Stay away from the Upgrade if you need jailbreak

However, for those using Evasi0n jailbreak, please take note. Musclenerd from the jailbreak team confirmed on Twitter that Apple has fixed the security bugs which made jailbreaking possible:

So if you need Evasi0n jailbreaking and rely on cydia hacks, stay with your current iOS and don’t upgrade to iOS 6.1.3.

    oh sucks…crApple is going to go down in history again with all these “restrictions”. History is repeating itself and crAPPLE is too dumb to realize it. Galaxy/Android phones is going to take over.

    Remember back then crAPPLE was “the” personal computer (PC) and with all the restrictions, IBM/IBM clones with open flat form slaughtered crAPPLE’s market share? iPhone once dominates the smartphones market just like the “PC” back then…but not for long…
    Give it another 2 years….and it’s a done deal.
