There’s a stellar jailbreak tweak on Cydia that turns your iOS device into an Airplay streaming box. You don’t need an Apple TV or Airport Express to use this feature, and this is just one of the perks of jailbreaking your devices.
Join me and let’s unbox AirFloat tweak.
What the heck?
AirFloat 1.1 jailbreak tweak is an open-source platform on Github developed by Kristian Trenskow. It turns your iOS device into an Airplay audio receiver as long as you have Wi-Fi connection and spare devices. Turn your iPhone or iPod into an Airplay streaming box instead of disposing it.

How does it work?
Download AirFloat from BigBoss repository and restart your device for the changes to take effect. There are no settings in this jailbreak app. Once installed, users can launch the server app from the springboard.

Basically, the app automatically searches the audio receiver. It sends an audio from iTunes, iPhones, iPads or Apple TVs’s to other devices. You can connect to the server from iTunes or any airplay-capable devices.

Users can still browse and continue other tasks in the iOS device, even play games while AirFloat runs in the background.
How’s the app?
I am impressed with AirFloat’s features when I tried it using my iPod 4th gen and iPad 3. The music streams well while I check my emails and run other productivity apps. It’s as if I am playing the audio using my iPad though it was set as the receiver.

It’s good to know that AirFloat is now available on Cydia. This app was removed from iTunes last year according to Mark Shnier of iDownloadblog.
What can I say? This jailbreak tweak deserves 5-stars. It’s available on BigBoss repo for free.
Try it and see if it works well on your device. Give us a shout out below!
