The rumour mill starts again before 2013 kicks off that the next-generation iPhone, dubbed by media as the “iPhone 5S” will be released in June. Jefferies Analyst Peter Misek said Apple is going to break the pattern of the release cycle next year.
Misek is predicting the iPhone 5S has a new “super HD camera/screen, a better battery, and NFC,” and “possible updates include an IGZO screen for Retina+, 128GB storage.” He’s also predicting it comes in 6-8 colors, presumably similar to the iPod Touch which comes in a bunch of colors”
How about a superb iPhone 5S in full retina display? Well, with the “super HD camera/screen” the current version is already loaded with such rich feature, but could is be possible Apple will create another super HD quality, more than we expect?
According to some reports Apple might consider this technology. Recently, the fruit company acquired a company named AuthenTec earlier this year. Killian Bell of Cult of Mac says, “It’s widely believed it will use its mobile security technologies to make NFC a possibility on future iOS devices.”
And what’s with the IGZO screen for Retina + 128 GB storage? The IGZO (Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide) screen comes with a promising performance on touch screen devices where the image quality is higher than the normal LCD.
What’s more surprising is the iPhone 5S coming with a bunch of colors just like the iPod Touch 5. We’re all used to the monotonous black-and-white units, but having a pink iPhone? Hmmm… What do you think? Could the fruit company paint the iPhone with colorful aluminium for a change?
Now, a note about Misek’s predictions. Misek had been making a lot of bad predictions about Apple TV for years. For instance, in August he said the Apple television was in full production and would be out by year end.
However, Misek nailed the iPhone 4S prediction. Business Insider says, “In May 2011 when everyone was calling for an iPhone 5, he called for an iPhone 4S, which turned out to be accurate. So, his iPhone predictions seem trustworthy.”
Folks, this is just another rumour update.
What do you think?
