Apple has many jewels in its crown and podcasts is one of them. Through the years, people have realized the significance of podcasts and their use has grown. The Podcasts app that was released initially didn’t go well with the users.
To replace the standalone app, a new app has been launched. Podbay is the next-generation Podcasts app that gives allows users to stream their favorite shows. It memorizes all the podcasts you visit regularly and keeps them up on the main screen to help, which lets users to access them faster. The resuming issue, which was annoying in the previous app, has been resolved.
Podbay loads at a much faster speed than the initial app. An empty home screen will be presented upon launching the app for the first time. The choices saved by the app can be accessed through the search bar. In the official podcasts app, the user had to switch between the app and iTunes, but both have been merged together in Podbay. Users can also browse through the top shows lists. There are separate categories for each podcasts.
Some interesting and simple-to-use features are part of this app. You do not need to press additional buttons to play anything. All you need to do is just tap on an episode and it will start playing. If want to rewind the podcast, you can do it by 30 seconds and can also fast forward it using 1.5x or 2x speed. The volume control for this app is the same as of the hardware (iPhone keys). The episode name and the podcast can be tweeted as well. All additional options available in the Podbay can be accessed from the ‘Now Playing’ option.
Podbay can even play when the device is locked or you are working on something else on the device. The lockscreen is going to display the album art and the basic controls. Podbay is a free of charge download from the App Store. The app is also optimized for iPhone 5. Let us know if you try it out.
