New Concepts on iOS App Switcher

October 11, 2012 — by Sette Capati0

The App Switcher is one of the most helpful options on iOS when it comes to multitasking. It’s not just an ordinary day for you. Everything starts from the alarm, receiving phone calls and emails and taking down notes. In addition to the photo sharing and game apps, calendars and reminders – these things can only be accessed one at a time with the App Switcher.

Developers saw the potential of tweaking it for simplicity and functionality. We owe it to them for providing us a plethora of useful tweaks of App Switcher. However, since iOS 6 was launched, the jailbreak community remained quiet. Everyone is waiting for the pawned A5 and A6 devices. Online Fx Trading In Venezuela Forex Online Trading In Czech Republic Since there is no available jailbreak tweak for the new firmware, Simon Blog just want to share these cool concepts for a more useful iOS App Switcher by Sentry, a forum member of The Verge.

His mocked-up images shows a clean and sleek design of possible iOS App Switcher. Since Apple has left this one untouched, a refreshed design can create a buzzword to Apple fans.

“In an attempt to offer more functionality and features, they lose the core simplicity of the switcher which made it particularly usable to begin with. Some concepts use the entire screen space to display a grid of app previews, others only double the switcher height to include an extra row of icons,” said Sentry. He pointed out why the previous concepts fail.

The concept above is sleek and pretty compatible with the new resolution of the iPhone 5. It provides a visual representation of the current apps.

This improved version shows the playback and volume control. It also shows the specifics of the song.

This mocked-up is a grand slam winner. The Settings app can be accessed in a few taps without going through the Home Screen and launching the app itself. The brightness slider is configured along with the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G features.

Tell us what you think about the concepts. If you have any suggestions, feel free to shout them out in the comments section below.
