Small4MMS Reduces The Size Of MMS Photos For Less Data Usage (Cydia)

iPhone has a wonderful camera for taking images. However, sharing photos via MMS can be an issue as the file sizes are around 1MB or more. It might take a lot of time when carrier data connection is being used to send photos. Since iOS does not let you know the size of the MMS before sending it, charges can go high without knowing the exact cost and this can take a toll on your bills. However, the jailbreak community always has something up their sleeves and this time it?s the Small4MMS. This Cydia tweak compresses the photos in your iPhone or iPad to the standard MMS size (100 KB). The tweak saves the compressed photos as a copy so you have the high resolution photo intact.

After installing Small4MMS, there?s no configuration required. The tweak adds a new button to the option of each photo and the option to shrink the photo is at the end of the list, underneath Print. There would be no shrinking if the size of the image is already small. If a photo needs compressing, Small4MMS will save a compressed copy of the original photo. You will be informed once compression is complete.

This tweak makes changes to the stock photos options, so it?s not just restricted to MMS. The user can also use the tweak for other means such as e-mail, making space on your iDevice, etc. The Small4MMS tweak is available free of cost from the Cydia store. Let us know your thoughts if you try it out!
