I came across this ?cute? jailbreak tweak called ?MiniBanners? while I tinker with Cydia packages. I found it fancy and useful because it perfectly works with the Notification Center. I personally prefer less clutter on banner updates, and I think I found the right tweak.
We?ve seen different tweaks on iOS Notifications, from large banners to medium, downsized to small and now the minis. This jailbreak tweak was authored by Rudolf Lichtner, (rud0lf77) the same iOS developer who introduced AppCent Cydia Tweak that shows the App Download Percentage and DoNotDisturb Jailbreak Tweak.
From the name itself, MiniBanners jailbreak tweak shows the notifications on your iOS devices on smaller banners, removing the content, leaving the icon and the name of the application and a badge that shows the number of notifications on that app.
It saves a lot of space literally. As you all know, we?ve featured a plethora of Notification banner tweaks such as CoverMeNot Jailbreak Tweak, Aptdate Banner Notifications for Cydia Updates and AppUpdate Notifier Tweak and more. However, with MiniBanners, it embraces the principle of ?less clutter, less noise.?
Actually, the tweak works smoothly that it blends to the iOS user interface. After installing the tweak, I found myself adjusting to the way it operates when there?s an update. I?m used to seeing the stock banners for notifications. However, after the succeeding updates, I felt much comfortable using it. I started to like that ?less clutter, less noise? principle. (Actually, it?s a title of a book)
If you want to install MiniBanners, head to Cydia and tap Search. Type in ?MiniBanners? and install. It’s FREE. And respring your device for the changes to take effect. There are no options available on Settings app. It?s ready to use. You can uninstall it as you wish.
MiniBanners doesn’t work with the CoverMeNot jailbreak tweak, which I personally use. I recommended that you choose either of the two to avoid confusion when it flashes on your screen.
