There’s a new installer packages that surfaced with hints of getting labeled as the best Cydia alternative called iDebStore. We all know how Cydia has managed to stand the test of time on jailbreak tweaks. Developers tried to create apps that can surpass the Jay Freeman’s work. However, it’s been the most powerful alternative to the official Apple Store we have seen. Could iDebStore set the standard on installer packages?
The spirit of competition rises. Folks behind iDebStore are working on its beta stage. To set the standard on installer packages, iDebStore aims to provide fast and efficient web-based Cydia alternative. Throughout this info-tech/mobile age in iOS, people began seeing this advantage of cultivating a competitive mindset in order to create and innovate products that will suit the needs and preferences of users. It actually works and we benefit from the labor.
The freedom to tweak and enhance the stock features of the iOS device brings convenience and productivity. And while we get perks on free stuffs on Cydia, one of the concerns of a number of people is the monopoly in the jailbreak world. This monopoly provides no incentive to Saurik to introduce new features and improvements on packages.
Moving forward, the developer(s) behind iDebStore were inspired to create a web-based portal. They knew the extent of reloading and installing the packages via Cydia takes some time. And so in its closed beta stage, the site includes more than one thousand apps to try and free packages you can install from the default repositories as part of it.
According to the developers, the long-term plan of iDebStore is to eliminate the use of repositories with all the packages being hosted centrally. One of the selling points of the iDebStore is the speed. Of course fast installation is an A plus and the simplicity of its interface, say good-byes to backups and broken jailbreak installations.
The long term plans sound promising. Let’s wait and see.
