We stumbled upon this new application on Cydia that allows users to create iPhone-framed screenshots directly on the iOS device called “PreviewMaker.” This creative app authored by FreeApple/SubyWrex was designed to showcase great-looking screenshots in high-quality and detailed black and white iPhone frames.

Personally, I am amazed and somehow curios as how ModMyi creates these iPhone-framed photos featured on their blog posts. The designs are polished and literally resemble the iPhone/iPod device. Finally, Anthony Bouchard revealed the secret on his recent post. The secret sauce? It’s not sauce. They use a Mac application called Screentaker tagged at $4.99 at Mac App Store.

We don’t need the Screentaker to do that because PreviewMaker can do the same thing. What’s more, you can create it on your device. If you’ve visited ModMyi, you can see the excellent frame screenshots with highlights and gloss. There’s a little discrepancy with the final shot, but the image quality remains excellent.

PreviewMaker package comes with settings and sharing options. You don’t need to be a pro photo editor to create one. It just involves a few steps to integrate a screenshot into the iPhone frame, and you can save it on your Camera roll, send it via email or share in Dropbox. PreviewMaker includes settings where you can configure the app on how it will perform.

To create an iPhone-framed screenshot, set your Camera Roll to import images or screenshots. You can share your photos with its built-in sharing options.

As of this writing, PreviewMaker is under development. You are allowed to create frames using the iPhone in black or white, and prompted with a message “Coming Soon!” on options that are under construction.
The app is highly recommended for developers of themes and applications to showcase their work with elegance and professionalism for only $1.99 at ModMyi repository.
The verdict: We give PreviewMaker a 4.5 star-rating.
How do you find PreviewMaker? Is it totally worth the investment?
