Just like any problem, there’s always a solution for everything. And just like any stock features of iOS devices, there’s always a remedy to maximize it. There’s always something to look forward to when it comes to jailbreak tweaks.
We recently stumbled upon this new tweak on Cydia that allows users to choose any song from the Music Library and set it as Alarm Tone. iOS developer Fire30 came up with “MyAlarm” jailbreak tweak. It’s something that most of us had probably encountered before on old Symbian phones like Nokia or Sony Ericsson.
The alarm clock – we all know this is is a must-have for all the gadgets that were created for the past years. The iOS devices have built-in alarm tone like Marimba. But with MyAlarm, you can freely choose your favorite song to wake you every morning.
Basically, MyAlarm let’s you play music from the music library instead of the stock alarm tone. That’s all. If you want to spice up your morning coo-coo’s, this is what you need. Once it is installed, you can access the options in the Settings app. Tap the “Choose Song” and set as you wish. When you slide it away, the music stops. It works with the Snooze mode too.
If you want to install this tweak, head to Cydia and tap Search. Type in “MyAlarm.” Respring after installation and launch the Settings app to configure. It will prompt a message box once you tap the “Set Song As Alarm.” Press OK to respring the device.
I installed this tweak to check whether it will work with my iOS device. Take note, it requires iOS 5 + firmware.
Overall, I give MyAlarm a 4 star-rating.
Try to see if it works well for you. It won’t cost you much because it’s FREE.
What song did you set for alarm?
