You’ll receive a Notification banner whenever an update occurs, so you won’t have to go to the repository to check the changes. This jailbreak tweak is highly recommended for users with jailbroken devices. Basically, the Aptdate checks for updates of stock repos every five hours, and it can be configured using the Settings app. It works in the background and alerts you with the packages.
We all know the functionality of the Notification Center since the debut of iOS 5. It’s not a surprise anymore that iOS developers can create some ideas on how to maximize this feature and make it more useful when it comes to jailbreaks.
As I have mentioned above, the tweak is configurable in the Settings app. Toggle on button, and it will start running in the background for alerts every five hours. The downside of this tweak is the possible reduced battery life as it runs in the background. The time interval is limited for five hours only.
