We’ve heard exciting features of iOS 6 and with the jailbreak tweaks mimicking the original features, it’s easy to install some of them in our iOS 5 devices. We also featured a beta installation on iOS 6 for developers.
However, if you have second thoughts, afraid to test the waters, you can still experience iOS 6 right on your iOS 5 with this widget installed in your Notification Center. It’s called “iOS 6 Twitter Widget.” You can update your status by ‘Tap to Tweet.’
The original iOS 6 features built-in Twitter and Facebook update, and thanks to Mathieu Hendey, we give him the credit for creating this iOS 6 Twitter Widget integrated on your Notification Center. The tweak is simple, but it is useful for those who love to tweet all day. It’s a shortcut worth configuring for NC. It highly resembles the iOS 6 beta features.
If you want to install this tweak, go to Cydia and tap Search, simply type iOS 6 Twitter Widget. You can configure the tweak in Settings app after installation. You can place the widget on top of weather widget. See the image below.
For post installation, you can access the tweak by toggling on the widget.
Personally, this widget is worth installing because I tweet a lot. I don’t have to go through the Home Screen to find the Twitter app. I look forward to adding Facebook’s widget in Notification Center. Although this would require so much work since Facebook loves to authorize apps to sign in. It’s amazing to have an iOS 6 feature without firmware update on your iOS device.
Here’s a screen shot of the widget with its minimalist interface.
It would be nice to have its Facebook counterpart in the future. We don’t know how the developer will integrate it, but for now let’s enjoy this laid-back widget and start sharing this post.
iOS 6 Twitter Widget is available on Bigboss repository for FREE.
What do you think about the widget?
