The iOS 6 is easily becoming the best firmware present out there. There are a lot of things which Apple has provided to the latest firmware. Now, according to the Peter Kafka from AllThingsD as well as some other sources present over the internet; the podcasts present in the iOS 6 will have an app for themselves when the firmware is officially released this fall. Many of you might already be aware that the said Podcast section is present in the iTunes update 10.6.3. However, removing it from the storefront indicates that Apple has plans for new app for the recordings. Read on to know about the details!
According to Kafka, from AllThingsD, the sources that seem to know about this say that when the iOS 6 is made available to the masses this fall; the podcasts will have their own app, which will allow the users to discover, download and play them on their mobile devices. However, the users who will access the iTunes through their desktops or laptops will still see the podcasts in that version of iTunes.
We would like to thank AppAdvise for being the first ones to see the change when it happened about two days ago. The Podcast section has indeed disappeared from the iTunes Store storefront app featured in the latest firmware and there seems a possibility that the fruit company is looking to break the media categories in the iTunes into separate apps. Kafka has further elaborated that the fans will be happy if the podcasts are given their own space!

The company also made the same move last year when they divided the iTunes player app into separate music and video apps. They also made a separate app for the book reader when the company launched the iBooks with the iPad in 2010.
Even the iTunes U lecture series has its own app, however, the downloads can still be accessed by the users on their mobile devices through the main iTunes player.
All of these things do sound interesting, and it would be a good thing if the podcasts get their own app, we are still waiting for Apple to make an official comment about all of this. Leave us your thoughts!
