Microsoft has recently updated the My Xbox Live for iOS interface, while launching it for Android. The new updated features in My Xbox Live for iOS app are exactly the ones Apple user?s envied upon earlier in Windows Phone?s Xbox Companion app. This new feature will facilitate iOS users to navigate their Xbox 360 over Wi-Fi with their iPhone.
As the official description reads:
“Use your iPhone with your Xbox to connect, control and discover content on your console. Connect your iPhone for access to a quick list of your most recent console activity. Control your content with play, pause, fast forward and rewind media controls. Find fresh entertainment to play in the new Discover section.”
Besides this, the updated app will also allow iOS users to search and control content from their the Xbox 360 menus as well as play, pause, rewind or fast forward through content. Also, being a gaming console, the Xbox 360 also serves as a media center with PC connectivity. This empowers you with the ability to buy and rent movies and TV shows – along with music and applications.
In that respect, you can say that the box 360 competes with Apple’s own Apple TV set-top box. The My Xbox Live app besides being available for iPhone users has now been made available as the iPad version too. Interestingly, the iPad version of the app has also been refurbished, including Retina Display support and improved sign-in controls.

Other additional updates to the iOS interface from Microsoft My Xbox Live app include improved authentication for increased stability, besides high-resolution images for the new iPad. However, remote control functionality is not yet available on the iPad.
