Unlock iOS 5.1.1 Using UltraSn0w 1.2.7 for Old Basebands Only

We know you are expectant for more updates after the release of untethered jailbreak by iOS developers. Now, the iPhone Dev?s Team software-based ultrasn0w is finally available. The battle is not yet over. Your final feat is to unlock your device for all networks.

This UltraSn0w 1.2.7 update doesn?t come with any additional baseband support. It serves to unlock the following modem firmware:

  • 01.59.00
  • 04.26.08
  • 05.11.07
  • 05.13.01
  • 05.12.01
  • 06.15.00

To check your modem firmware, go to Settings > General > About and see the Modem Firmware version number. Devices running in iOS 5.1.1 with compatible baseband via Sn0wbreeze, RedSn0w/PwnageTool should follow these steps below to unlock the latest version of UltraSn0w.

Step 1:

Make sure your device is jailbroken. The first step is to jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 device using an older baseband preserved via custom firmware built using either Sn0wbreeze or RedSn0w/PwnageTool.

(Skip step 1 if you already jailbroken your device.)

Step 2:

After the jailbreak process, you should see the Cydia icon present on the Home Screen. Launch Cydia and wait until the data reload.

Step 3:

UltraSn0w was released by the iPhone Dev Team, hosted on one of the default repositories, pre-installed in Cydia. No need to add new repositories, instead hit the Search option from the bottom navigation bar and type ?UltraSnow? and simply hit search.

For education purposes, if you need to enter the repo manually, select the ?Manage? option, then ?Sources? button, select ?Add? (found at the top left-hand corner). You will see a pop up box, enter the ff. http://www.repo666.ultrasn0w.com and tap ?Add Source.?

Step 4:

From the search results, simply select ?Install? found at the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Step 5:

Confirm the installation package and wait for the process until it is finished.

Step 6:

Select ?Restart Springboard? option to enable your device for reboot. Your iPhone should be unlocked by now ? ready for other networks.
