Reveal Tweak Lets You View iOS Notifications In Full Text

iOS notification feature was introduced to give the user basic information. When you click on a notification which has a text of larger length, it loads the application for more detailed information which takes time. You may have wondered why Apple didn?t introduce the feature which allows users to read full on-screen notifications. There don’t seem to be any technical issues and iOS developers, Conrad Kramer and Joshua Tucker recently released a Cydia tweak known as Reveal that places the notification bar to enable you to scroll horizontally on banner notifications, and vertically scroll on bubble notifications so they can be read in full text.

They have also posted a demo video showing the functionality of the Reveal notification tweak. For reading the full text of a banner notification, scroll from right to left and for reading bubble notifications, you have to tap expand table cells or scroll from up to down. The jailbreak app works for all notifications accessible through banner notifications or from the iOS Lock screen.

A thing to remember is that in iOS, you may not see the full message in the notifications. This is because large notifications for 3rd party apps are truncated to some extent by the operating system itself. On the other side, the stock apps have no limit on the number of texts appearing in push notifications.

The tweak is for iPad and iPhone and has been welcomed with open arms in the jailbreak community. I have seen many positive comments as it brings the wonderful functionality to the Springboard. You can get the Reveal Cydia tweak under the BigBoss repo. It will cost you $1.99 and I think it gives you value for money!
