The Solar Keyboard Folio also claims that it?s fully charged internal battery can store enough power to operate the keyboard for two years when typing 2 hours a day.

How It Works

Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio has been designed to prop the iPad in two different ways. Just as when the screen is propped up for typing, the Folio functions like any other keyboard. On the other hand, when a user puts the iPad in position number two for multimedia; some of the keys on the keyboard allow the control of iPad media with buttons for volume along with pause and play.

So, when you close the new folio it automatically places the iPad into sleep mode – just like Apple’s own smart cover. And when the folio is opened, the iPad will automatically turn on. But do you know where the solar panels that power the device are located?

Well, small solar panels on the keyboard that gather power for the Solar Keyboard Folio are located on the back of the device. But, they only take up about a quarter of the space available.

The keyboard has 64 keys in US layout and measures 428 x 17.8 x 253 mm, weighing at 460 g without the iPad. Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio is priced at $129.99 and is expected to ship this month.
