Future iPhone May Have NFC ‘Gifting’ Feature

Wouldn?t it be super nice to receive your favorite song as a gift from someone?s iPhone?

Yes! It is made possible by the fruit company. Apple is introducing a new feature; probably, it will be available in the future iPhone ? a patent application for gifting iTunes purchase via NFC or email. Basically, it allows users to transfer digital media content from one account to the other account.

Apple filed the patent on April 26, and it seems this is going to be one of the awesome features we can enjoy once it is made available.

Near field communication (NFC) is not yet available to any Apple device ? the feature allows you to execute the transfer by simply tapping your iPhone. You can send your friends and family gift songs in this way, sharing the media content and purchases within the proximity, whoever is standing next to you. You can also transfer the purchases via email.

What?s more, you can share iTunes playlist with your friends ? of course with a cost. The price is unknown, being put within the context of ?gifting,? by the fruit company.

Considering that the transfer is for digital media content, the gifts may include personal voice message and images. It?s easier to send a friendly note to your best friend and loved one. The sender is only charged once the receiver decides to download the media.

If the sender?s account runs out of credit, the receiver has the option to cover the charges in the transaction and download the content. This may sound a bit awkward for calling it as a ?gift? while the receiver pays for it. However, the feature is useful when a friend wants a copy of a song in your playlist.

I think this feature is convenient in terms of sharing media content. I love to receive a gift of my favorite songs, ?Dare You To Move by Switchfoot.?

Which favorite song would you want to receive?
