Cydia tweaks are known to offer something out of the ordinary. The usual method of viewing all the apps in the App Store is to perform the tiring scroll. However, iOS developer ctrled has released AppMosaic. The App Store loads only 25 entries at a time but this new tweak shows the top 200 paid and free App Store applications in a mosaic pattern.
You will see a new icon on the homescreen after installing AppMosaic. It only depicts the icons and starts by allowing you to choose between top 200 App Store apps (paid or free). After loading app, it shows a mosaic pattern of all the applications on the screen. You can now tap any of the icons, and a box appears with all information at the bottom of the screen labeled by the title and the developer/publisher.
Before you decide to go give it a try, you must know that the tweak is dependent on the WinterBoard jailbreak app which seems to be outdated. However, the mosaic might offer an enough incentive for you to get it.
If you want to go more into depth of the application you wish to view, you can double tap on the information pane which will launch the application and load it. This will allow you to see its description, user ratings, reviews, price etc.
There’s another thing that might bother you. AppMosaic is ad-supported, so it will not go down with users who hate ad-supported tweaks. However, it is a unique app discovery tool and has a fast load time.
You can find it at the Cydia Store. It is available through the ModMyi repo. The icon will sit on the home screen and no settings need to be changed. It is available for free and will work on a jailbroken iDevice.
