Got iBooks DRM Issue after Jailbreak? Make Sure You Use Redsn0w 0.9.10b5

The jailbreak community has been active since October. We have seen jailbreaks for A4 and A5 devices in the past couple of months. Some users have been reported that images and text are displayed incorrectly while reading books which are protected by DRM. In case you do not know about it, the iPhone Dev team has released Redsn0w 0.9.10b5 in the late January to fix the iBook issue.

One of the major issues some of you may face after the jailbreak is the iBooks crash error issue. Redsn0w and Corona updates were released to solve it. After the crash error issue, users have been facing another iBooks problem. Books that have content protected by Digital Rights Management have images disappearing.

In late January, the iPhone Dev-Team has released Redsn0w 0.9.10b5 which is accompanied by a utility called “crazeles”. The iBooks jailbreak detection causes 10% of the images to show incorrectly and the utility solves this issue. The new Redsn0w version will help the users who have jailbroken their A4 devices untethered and have faced the DRM iBooks issue.

1. Fix the iBook Issue via Redsn0w

If you want to fix iBooks DRM issue, you can install the latest version of Redsn0w by re-running the update over the existing jailbreak. De-select Cydia when re-jailbreaking your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch with Redsn0w 0.9.10b5.

2. Fix iBook Issue using Corona

For iPhone 4S users or those who do not want to re-jailbreak using redsn0w, Corona is an alternative solution. You can download Corona via cydia and install it to fix the iBook issue directly. Corona works for all jailbroken users (including A4 and A5 devices, except iPhone 3GS old bootrom) running iOS 5.0.1.
