Music, as we all know, is loved by the iOS community. Talking about music just doesn’t mean production or sale of music singles or albums, but it relates to the huge demand of personal music players, music software and accessories like headphones portraying the ever growing industry. The iDevices have played a major role when it comes to listening music with the amazing sound quality it offers.

Apple, for the last decade, has revolutionized the music industry, and it has become a part and parcel when it comes to Music Industry and thus the role it played esp. iPod, and iTunes cannot be denied. Since ten years, iPod device came in different versions so did iPhone and iPad with built-in music and media applications. It is to be noticed that Apple started from scratch in the music industry and took it to the heights of success and produced the largest number of sophisticated musical gadgets.

Considering this, from the Jailbreak community two developers released a tweak related to media playback on iOS devices. These two developers are di_kira and Mikiwi93 releasing ‘HomePlayer‘, which not only resides on the home screen of the devices but also works as a media player thus justifying its name. A new media player screen is initiated by making use of a user-defined gesture via activator (another cydia tweak) that permits music playback, including all the features of an actual functional playback music.

This HomePlayer screen will have all the standard music controls like stop, pause or volume adjustment and does also display track information, including the album plus the artist if available. On top of it, you may see the lyrics of the current song by pressing the blue arrow that appears in the view if the words are embedded in the track or else the tweak may search the lyrics online.

HomePlayer is available for $1.99 from the ModMyi repository in Cydia and requires iOS 4 or higher to function.
