Like most other iPhone lovers, I strongly believe that the Apple iPhone 4 is without doubt the best smartphone in the world. However, my biggest grudge with the iPhone is that it lacks multi-SIM capabilities. Last year, I tried my hand at USBFever’s case to host dual full size SIM cards on the back of an iPhone 4 but I was left wanting more due to its poor usability. In that context, I recently came across the launch of Vooma Peel PG920, a special case that transforms your iPhone 4/ 4S into a dual SIM smartphone.
First things first, Vooma Peel will work only with jailbroken iPhones. It consists of a 1380mAh battery, a GSM SIM slot and unlocked cellular radio. To get started, you need to install the Vooma app from Cydia, you can control the phone once it’s inside the case. After the app is installed and your iPhone 4/4s is in the Vooma Peel case, you can use the app’s dialer to select a SIM and make an outgoing call. You can quickly and easily switch between two SIMs when necessary. Therefore, it effectively unlocks your iPhone as well. Additionally, the case also includes a backup battery that’ll charge your phone.
It looks to be an interesting solution for users who want to use two SIM cards with your iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S and aren’t adverse to the idea of jailbreaking. Vooma has a strong track record of delivering innovative iPhone/ iPod/ iPad accessories in the past. Last year, the company released the revolutionary Peel iPod case that transforms a regular iPod touch into an iPhone.

There’s no official word on pricing or availability of the Vooma Peel case. Those who’re interested are encouraged to register their email address at the Vooma website to receive further information. If Vooma prices it reasonably, I, for one, am game for buying it to turn my iPhone 4 into a multi-sim smartphone. What about you?
