iPhone Tip: Let Safari Remember the Password for You

February 28, 2011 — by Simon Ng8

I used to read my favorite newspaper online every morning. Like any other paid websites, the online newspaper website requires me to log on with my registered account before reading it. It’s obvious, I know. But when you need to do the same logon every day, it’s a bit annoying.

Do you face a similar situation?

If you’re like me, this tip can save you a bit of time. Actually there is an option on iPhone that enables Safari save the password for you.

Enable Autofill Option to Save Password

You can go to Settings -> Safari -> AutoFill and enable “Name & Password”. By turning on this option, every time you logon a new website, Safari will prompt you with an option to save the logon information. If you choose “Yes”, Safari will save the username and password for you. Next time when you access the same website again, it’ll automatically populate the logon information so that you do not need type it again.

Of course, you don’t have to save the logon information for every website. For some websites that you think it’s too sensitive for Safari to save the password, simply choose “Never for this Website”.

Does this tip help? As always, leave us comment and share your thought.
