Earlier, we covered how you can use Emoji icons to beautify your text message. Developed by FTW Innovations, TextPics is another app that tries to make text message more vivid using ASCII art.
Long before the advent of images, people cleverly uses plain text characters to create visual presentation. That’s known as ASCII art. If you already owned a computer in the 90′s, you’ve probably seen it before in email signatures and online discussion forums. TextPics now brings the ASCII art to iPhone and allows you to send it via SMS.
Over 100 ASCII art pieces are built into the app. Instead of just writing a “Happy Birthday” text message, send a cake in ASCII art to your friend. Or you can surprise your friends with various forms of “Congratulation” text pics.

The app seamlessly integrates with the built-in text app of iPhone. You can simply select the text pic and tap “Send to Contact” to send the message to your friends. It also allows you to copy the text pic to clipboard for pasting in other applications such as Email, Twitter or Facebook. As mentioned by the company, the app will be updated regularly with more text pics. You can also use a “Create” feature to create your own text pic.

The TextPics app is now on sale and available for just US$0.99 on App Store. If you’re bored with the normal text message and wanna have some fun, go ahead and purchase the app.
