Game Center is one of the highlights of iOS 4.1 update. By introducing Game Center, Apple adds a social gaming network to iPhone and iPod touch. It lets you invite friends or other games to join and play multi-player game together or challenge each other over the Internet. The Game Center comes with leaderboards and achievements features that you can always see your ranking against your friends and compare the game achievements with your friends.
If you have already installed or upgraded to iOS 4.1, you probably notice a new icon called “Game Center” on home screen. Before using it, you will need to go through a simple registration process and create a nickname that is used as your identity in Game Center and for sharing with your friends.
However, don’t expect you can use Game Center right away. Not all iPhone games support Game Center currently. The game developers need to update the game to incorporate the new Game Center feature. Now you may have these questions in your mind.
What iPhone games are currently supporting Game Center? Where can I find the list?
At the time I am writing this post, there are only a handful of iPhone games updated to support the Game Center including:
- Real Racing
- Enigmo 2
- Nanosaur 2
- GraalOnline Classic+
- Flight Control
- Isaac Newton’s Gravity
- Cro-Mag Rally
- Cannon Challenge 2
- Cocoto Magic Circus
- Adrenaline Golf Online
- Zen Bound 2 Universal
- Megaplex Madness
- Worldy Wings
If you own any of the above games, go ahead to App Store and upgrade them to enjoy the Game Center feature. By the time you read this post, you should see more game developers announce the support of Game Center. To get a full list of games with social gaming feature, you can click this direct iTunes link to check. Apple already creates a new section listing all iPhone games supporting the feature. Alternatively, you can launch “Game Center” and tap “Games”. Then tap on the “Find Game Center Games”, which will then show you the current list of Game Center games.
Grab any one of them and start playing games with friends!
