This is a BIG news for those iPhone 3G/3GS users awaiting unlock solution for iPhone running OS 3.1.3. Musclenerd, a member from iPhone Dev team, has revealed on Twitter that the unlock solution for iPhone 3.1.3 (with baseband 05.12.01) will be available after the release of iPhone OS 4.0.
The new version of iPhone is expected to release in coming June. So, it’s just a few more weeks before the debut of the unlock solution.
This is not an official announcement from the iPhone Dev team but it’s revealed during a conversation with @EmmanueGT on Twitter:
As of now, iPhone OS 3.1.3 is the latest version of iPhone OS. If you are using iPhone 2G, you are safe to upgrade the latest version and bootneuter should be able to handle the unlock. However, if you’re owner of iPhone 3G/3GS, iPhone 3.1.3 comes with a new baseband version of 05.12.01. Presently, there is no unlock solution to tackle this baseband. So, please stay away from OS 3.1.3 and stick with the older version (say, 3.1.2).
In case you have accidentally upgraded to 3.1.3, don’t get frustrated and don’t throw your iPhone away. Just be patient. The unlock solution will available soon. Stay tuned.

hi there it seems that you are loosing reception from the towers,try turning off and on the phone,,,and just call costumer service ,they will help you out..they will change your settings on the edge networkk…trust me it will work………

i cant jailbreak 3gs . i dont know which version it is .. but i am sure its about 3.1.2 .. i am having a hard time jailbreaking it with pwnage tools . it wont accept the ipsw .. wht do i do ?????? need HELP !
@nipun, you can use Spirit to jailbreak iPhone 3GS running OS 3.1.2. You can follow this jailbreak guide. Do not upgrade to 3.1.3, just follow the instruction. They should also work for 3.1.2.

I wish they released it today, I was about to throw this phone away. I out right paid 560 for it to do what ever I please. I use t-mobile so I wanted it unlocked and didn’t know about the update. So idk y apple is like that but I’m losing money and loved this phone but I need it unlocked soon

Guys, from now on there is no need to buy two simcards for Ipad and Iphone!
