Last week, Apple released another set of iPhone TV commercial for iPhone 3GS: Family Man, Dog Lover and Backpacker. With the theme of “There is an app for that”, Apple continues to show off some great iPhone applications in the TV commercial and demonstrates how they can make your life easier.
Here are the list of iPhone apps demonstrated in the ads:
Family Man
Jamie Oliver’s 20 Minute Meals [iTunes link] – The app bundles 55 recipes, written by Jamie Oliver. All recipes come with easy to follow steps, as well as, stunning step-by-step photography. On top of these, it also includes 21 exclusive Jamie Oliver videos featuring tips, techniques and kitchen skills. The app is now on sale and available for US$4.99 (previously at US$7.99).
Elmo?s Monster Maker [iTunes link] – An interesting game for kids and young children. It’s now sold at US$3.99.
Viper SmartStart [iTunes link] – Paired with its flagship Viper SmartStart system, the SmartStart app lets you remotely start and lock/unlock your car via a simple and intuitive interface. And, as highlighted in the ad, you can also release the car trunk via iPhone. [Check out the earlier post for detailed review]
Dog Lover
PetFinder.com Mobile App [iTunes link] – A free iPhone app that lets you easily access petfinder.com. The site lets you search more than 290,000 pets from over 13,000 shelters and rescue groups. You can also share pet profiles via Facebook, Twitter and email.
Facebook [iTunes link] – The ad shows off how easy you can share your dog’s photo with friends on Facebook. Simply launch the Facebook app on iPhone and upload photo. That’s it. The facebook app is available for free. [Check out the earlier post for detailed review]
Hey Walkies [iTunes link] – A free iPhone app that lets you find where dog lovers comes together. Hey Walkies also helps owners find parks for their dogs in NYC.
iCam [iTunes link] – Available at US$4.99, iCam lets you stream live video and audio from up to 4 webcams to your iPhone or iPod touch. It works over WiFi, 3G and EDGE network.
Backpacker
HostelWorld.com Mobile App [iTunes link] – The app lets you search and book over 23,000 hostels and budget properties in over 6,000 destinations worldwide right from your iPhone. It is available at no cost.
Jibbigo Speech Translator [iTunes link] – If you travel to Spain, this app is for you. Jibbigo is a bi-directional (English Spainish), natural speech-to-speech translation app. Simply hold down the record button and speak. The app translates the spoken sentence from English to Spanish. It can also speak the translation aloud. The app is available on App Store for US$24.99.
