On Tuesday, Apple announced its second quarter earnings results. Again, it delivered a stunning financial results that outperformed market expectations with its best non-holiday quarter ever. The Company posted revenue of $13.50 billion and net quarterly profit of $3.07 billion, or $3.33 per diluted share.
Regarding the iPhone, the Company reported that it sold 8.75 million iPhones in the quarter, representing 131 percent unit growth over the year-ago quarter. In brief, it’s the best quarter for iPhone.
So, do you know how many iPhones are sold since its first launch in 2007?
Combining all iPhone numbers that have been reported by Apple, so far, the company has already sold around 51.15 million iPhones worldwide. That’s really amazing, consider that this number is achieved in less than 3 years.
With the upcoming launch of iPhone 4G (or what so-called iPhone HD), it wouldn’t take Apple too long to sell the 100 millionth iPhone. Let’s wait and see.
