There is no shortage of currency conversion apps in App Store. Among all these apps, GlobeConvert app for iPhone is considered as my personal favorite.
The GlobeConvert app is a free currency and units converter that converts values of 80+ unit types including temperature, pressure, weight, volume, length, time, energy, power, speed and area.
The currency converter contains 190+ commonly and rarely used currencies and exchange rates are updated in real-time as long as you have a network connection. There is a small note under the conversion window that shows when the last conversion rate was updated. Also, there is a refresh button just beside the update date that you can press to refresh the rate.
There is a favorite button that allows you to save some of your more frequent conversions, so you can easily access it again and again.
If you need a conversion app, this is the best convertor app available for the iPhone. Not to mention, it is free! If you need a convertor app, please try this one first before you think about buying some of the other ones that are out there. This app truly does convert everything you could possibly want. It has a wonderful GUI that is easy to use and the favorite button is a great-added feature, allowing quick access to your more frequently-used conversions.

There is one known issue that users need to be aware of, however. When the app launches for the first time, it sets the last update date of currency exchange rate to the current date, which can be very misleading and cause some problems. Make sure you always refresh the exchange rates when you use the currency conversion.
Other than that, which I am sure it will be part of the next update, this app is fantastic. This app is typical of the Globe Family suite of apps which also include both Globemaster, an online travel guide app and GlobeTipping (an tip calculator and advisor for a number of countries).
An added bonus is that students will also find the temperature (including Kelvin for science students), area, volume and pressure conversion features very helpful and useful while doing the homework. The usage of this app, of course, are many and I am sure you find your own reasons why this app becomes invaluable.
So, give this elegant, fully functional, free convertor a try. You will not need anything else to meet your conversion needs. To download the app, you can simply click this direct iTunes link.

Hey Simon! Thank you very much for such a positive review, I and my partner are very happy that you liked GlobeConvert so much.
I’m also happy to inform you that GlobeConvert 1.5 update is on its way at the ver moment. After it is approved by App Store you will not only get that bug you’ve mentioned fixed but also an improved design and additional auto-update feature.
