ProSwitcher (Beta) for iPhone is Now Available for Free Download

Earlier, we covered an upcoming utility app named ProSwitcher, an alternative to the Multifl0w app. Today, Ryan Petrich, the developer, has released a beta version of the ProSwitcher utility.

For starter, ProSwitcher is a cydia application for jailbroken iPhone that provides a sleek interface and allows you to easily switch between background iPhone apps.

I have just downloaded and installed the app on my iPhone. It works pretty great. The interface is cool and it offers numerous customizations to fit your need.

To download the app, launch cydia and add http://booleanmagic.com/repo to the cydia source. If you do not know how to install a new source, you can refer to this post for detailed instructions. Once, cydia loads the source URL, you can search for ProSwitcher and install it.

Before trying out ProSwitcher, make sure you have Backgrounder installed and put some of the applications (e.g. Notes, Maps, Safari, etc) into background mode. Once you launch ProSwitcher, it displays all your background apps in a sleek interface with the thumbnails of the applications. You can swipe through the background applications and just tap (or double-tap) on the thumbnail to switch to that application.

ProSwitcher comes with a detailed configuration screen to customize the way you use the app. Say, you can disable Application Title or disallow the app to show default apps. By default, you tap on the ProSwitcher icon to launch the app. Through the Setting screen, you can also control the activation method of the app.

Despite it’s still in beta, ProSwitcher is pretty stable and ready for daily use. Go ahead and grab it!
