Gmail for iPhone is Now 2 to 3 times Faster, do you Feel the Speed Improvement?

by Simon Ng on December 21, 2009

Gmail Mobile ImprovementOn Thursday, Google’s Gmail team announced an update of Gmail for mobile. The mobile version of Gmail is now further optimized for speed and it should be loaded 2 to 3 times faster than that in April. As claimed, you can now load Gmail on your iPhone (or Android devices) in under 3 seconds. It’s much responsive than that you’re previously using.

If you’re Gmail user, simply point the mobile Safari to m.gmail.com and test out the performance improvement. Personally, I can’t tell how much it has been improved. But Gmail does load much faster on my iPhone 3GS than before.

Gmail for mobile is my favorite email app. Thanks for the great Gmail team to continue delivering great feature and optimization for mobile users. Even if you’re a regular Gmail user on mobile, you may not aware all the improvements. But actually, the team has brought numerous features to iPhone and Android devices’ users over the past months:

Over the past 8 months we’ve pushed the limits of HTML5 to launch a steady string of Gmail features, including:
- Full label support
- Swipe to Archive
- Smart Links
- Faster address auto-complete
- Move and Enhanced Refresh
- Outbox
- Auto-expanding compose boxes
- And many more…

So, do you feel the speed improvement of Gmail Mobile? Remember to leave us comment and share your experience.
