SnapTap Allows You To Take Photos Using iPhone’s Volume Control Button

December 1, 2009 — by Simon Ng1

iPhone Camera in Landscape ModeThe camera app on iPhone only allows you to use the on-screen touch button to snap a photo. I’m sure some of you do not like this design, particularly when you’re taking picture in landscape orientation.

The developer of SnapTap targets to offer iPhone user a better way to take pictures. With SnapTap, it lets you to snap photos easily by using the volume control buttons. As the author mentioned, you can finally take self-portrait pictures, just like using a digital camera.

SnapTap supports all models of iPhone running OS v3.0 to 3.1.2. Of course, it only works on jailbroken iPhone. You can download the app via Cydia for US$0.99.

I just got this app a few minutes ago. It works awesome! I know their are apps that do this in the real apple store… BUT this way you don’t have to download ANOTHER camera app to take pictures this way.

I can just keep using Apple’s camera app that comes with the phone and use the volume control as my picture-taker-button. Also, it works seamlessly with all my other apps (ie. cycorder, camerabag, shakeitphoto). Awesome! I love having a jailbroken phone!
