NightShot for iPhone Lets You Take Better Photo at Night

Nightshot for iPhoneWhile Apple has improved the iPhone’s camera on 3GS and pushing the resolution to 3M pixels, the quality of photos at low-light condition is still not good. It’s even worse if you’re using the older models of iPhone. The root reason is the lack of built-in flash on iPhone. However, there are other means to improve the photo quality taken at night or low-light condition.

NightShot is one of the iPhone app that lets you take a better photo at night. Advertised as a “software flash” for iPhone camera, the app offers three types (low, medium, high) of flash light for you to choose that it actually adjusts the contrast, brightness and enhances the dark area to improve the overall quality of photo.

The app itself is very similar to the built-in camera app. Simply tap the camera button to take a shot and tap Use to apply software-flash to the photo. You can then apply different types of flash light to better the photo. The performance of the app (tested on iPhone 3GS) is pretty great. You’ll not feel any lag when changing the flash type.

Talking about the quality of photo. The app does much the same as it advertised. The photo taken by NightShot is much better than that of the built-in camera app.
