The 30-seconds jailbreak tool, blackra1n, is now available for Mac user. Same as the Windows version, blackra1n offers the simplest way to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.2 and supports all models of iPhone, as well as, iPod touch.

As usual, please read through the following note carefully before jailbreaking:

1. Blackra1n only jailbreaks your iPhone and does not perform the unlock to let use other unofficial SIM. (If you do not know the difference between jailbreak and unlock, please check out the iPhone terminology.)
2. For those using software-unlocked iPhone 3G or 3GS, please do not upgrade to iPhone 3.1. Otherwise, you’ll lose the unlock, as the firmware update will also the baseband.
3. Blackra1n will not hactivate your iPhone. That means, you’ll need to use official SIM card for activation purpose.
4. Only tethered jailbreak is available for iPod touch device.

To download the Mac version of blackra1n, you can check out blackra1n.com and click the Apple icon to download.

The jailbreaking procedures are exactly the same as its Windows counterpart. You can refer to the step-by-step here.

Alternatively, for Mac user, you can also use PwnageTool 3.1.4 to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.2. PwnageTool is another jailbreak tool developed by iPhone Dev team.
