GeoHot Will Soon Release Blackra1n for iPhone OS 3.1 Jailbreaking

Earlier, I reported that GeoHot is developing an universal jailbreak solution for iPhone OS 3.1 and it targets to work on all iPhone models, as well as, iPod Touch.

The jailbreak tool is called blackra1n and its website (blackra1n.com) is already live.

GeoHot also posted a picture on his blog showing a jailbroken iPod Touch (3rd Generation). Yes, it’s an iPod Touch, not the iPhone. However, the implication is that the exploit used on iPod Touch can be applied on all models of iPhone (including iPhone 3GS). That means, you’ll soon see an universal jailbreak tool for iPhone OS 3.1.

GeoHot does not mention the exact release date for blackra1n. But it shouldn’t be too far away. Probably it’ll be available for download in these two days.

I know many Windows users are awaiting jailbreak solution for iPhone OS 3.1. So, I’ll keep an eye on this jailbreak solution and keep you posted about the release of blackra1n. Stay tuned.

Update: Blackra1n has been released. Both Windows and Mac versions are available for download.

But I heard there’s some prob with 3.1 though.

Even with the volume controls you can’t control the volume.
