You may have upgraded your iPhone to iPhone OS 3.1. There is one minor feature you may not know but you’ll definitely find it useful. It’s not an revolutionary feature but very handy:
Copy and paste phone number into the Dialpad
iPhone comes with a built-in capability to detect number as phone number, so you can tap and make the call directly. However, not all number are detected correctly as phone number. Before iPhone OS 3.1, when you come across such phone number in note, web page or documents, you need to memorize the phone number and key it in the dialpad. With the upgrade to 3.1, you can simply copy the phone number and paste it into the dialpad to make your call.
Copy & paste a phone number is the same as you copy any other text on iPhone. Simply tap on the phone number and hold for a second. iPhone will pop up a context menu for you to select and copy the phone number. With the text copied, go to Phone application and paste back the phone number to make your call.

Note: For iPhone jailbreaker, though you may find this feature useful, please do not upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1 directly from iTunes. Presently, there is only jailbreak tool available for Mac user only for 3.1 OS. For details, please check out this post.
