iPhone App StoreApple’s App store hits another milestone – Tops Two Billion Downloads. Apple has announced that more than two billion apps have been downloaded from its App Store. It’s the largest application store in the world with over 85,00 iPhone applications available for download.

Do you still remember when the App Store was debut? The App Store was released to public in Jul, 2008. So, it’s really amazing that Apple can achieve this great milestone in such short period of time.

“The rate of App Store downloads continues to accelerate with users downloading a staggering two billion apps in just over a year, including more than half a billion apps this quarter alone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “The App Store has reinvented what you can do with a mobile handheld device, and our users are clearly loving it.”

This revolutionary App Store also offers a great opportunity for developers to show off their creative apps and even let them make enough money to quit the job. As Apple claimed, over 125,000 developers have joined the iPhone Developer program. The App Store is estimated to bring close to $440 million of revenue to Apple every year.

Obviously, we’ll continue to see the staggering growth of App Store. With the new iPod Touch and iPhone 3GS, as well as customers from 77 countries worldwide, Apple will soon hit another milestone (3 billion downloads & 100,000 applications).
