Video: iTwinge iPhone Keyboard in Action

by Simon Ng on September 21, 2009

iTwinge - Physical Keyboard for iPhoneLast Fri, I covered the world’s first commercial keyboard for iPhone – The iTwinge. At that time, I do not have any video to demonstrate the hand-on experience of iTwinge. Now, the company has published a video to show you how iTwinge works and how fast you can type with the physical keyboard.

After checking out the video, I’m still not convinced the idea of physical keyboard, particularly iTwinge covers half of the iPhone screen. To learn more about iTwinge, you can check out the video to see it in action.

By the way, as you can see in the video, the demonstrator can type 30 words per minute with iTwinge. Challenge: Can you type faster than the demo? If you want to know how fast you type using iPhone’s touch keyboard, point the mobile Safari to iPhoneTypingTest.com to test your typing speed. Remember to share your typing speed with us and your thought on iTwinge by leaving comment below.

Thanks for the innovation.
But, still I personally do not think the physical keyboard is at all required for iPhone.
The iPhone touch keypad is the best possible user-friendly keyboard I have experienced so far and more so when it is in landscape.
Thanks.

What if your iPhone is in a case?

@Yonathan, then you’ll need to detach the case before using iTwinge.

Sorry… if you got 30wpm with your magic keypad and I got 31wpm on my iPod Touch I wouldn’t even think twice about wasting my cash on a chunk of plastic.

I’m not kidding when I say I just hit 59 words a minute on the iPhone. Who needs that keypad? I just got rid of an E71 with the physical keypad, and I can tell you the iPhone’s keypad types much faster (complete with autocomplete).

This is really interesting. I am always over-loaded with electronic gadgets. I can really get rid of my laptop if this works. I will do some more research on this keyboard and if it can replace a laptop/netbook, I will definitely get this.
