Did you get my tweet about the release of Facebook 3.0 for iPhone? Even you didn’t follow me on Twitter, you may already heard from elsewhere that Facebook 3.0 is officially debut. With nearly two weeks of long wait, Facebook 3.0 finally comes to the App Store for download. As always, it doesn’t cost you a penny but brings lots of great features to your iPhone.
Earlier, I have written up a preview of Facebook 3.0 that covers all awesome features bundled in the new version. However, there are even more goodies for the official release. As mentioned by Joe Hewitt, the core developer of Facebook app, on Twitter, the Facebook 3.0 hosting on App Store offers a couple of new features:
- Support of Landscape Mode
- Support of Home Screen Organization
The ability to organize the custom home screen is a great addition to the release that you can add and remove custom icons to/from the home screen. If you have read the preview of Facebook 3.0, you know the developer originally intends to leave these two features for the next release version. (You may wonder why these two features suddenly appear in Facebook 3.0, check out Techcrunch for the reason behind it.)
I have already upgraded my Facebook app and played around with it for a whole day. It’s really amazing. So far, it’s probably the most useful iPhone application in 2009. Don’t wait. Go ahead and upgrade it! Or you can download it via this direct iTunes link.

I added Shutterbug magazine to my facebook as a friend, but now I am flooded with Shutterbug alerts. Can I remove Shutterbug from within the Facebook app?
