As Apple claimed, iPhone 3.0 OS comes with over a hundred new features for your iPhone. You may have already upgraded to iPhone 3.0 OS and are enjoying all the new features. But there is a catch. Not all iPhones can support all the new features bundled in iPhone 3.0. Apple has published a chart that highlights the difference.
As you can reveal from the feature chart, if you’re still using the iPhone 2G (i.e. 1st generation iPhone), you will not be able to use MMS, stereo bluetooth and Internet tethering. And, to enjoy all new features in iPhone 3.0 OS, you better upgrade to the new iPhone 3GS.
Please also note the following:
1. Peer-to-peer connectivity requires compatible applications, which can be downloaded from the App Store when available.
2. For iPhone 2G, it does not support using Bluetooth for peer-to-peer connectivity. It can only use Wi-Fi and cellular data networks for peer-to-peer connectivity.
3. MMS is not available in all areas. Please check with your carrier for details.
4. Internet tethering is not currently offered in the United States and some other countries. Please check with your carrier for availability.
