In the first installment, I talked quite a bit about the graphics and sound of Sims 3 for iPhone. Even though these are important areas, there are other topics that you are probably more interested in. For instance, how does the game play stack up to past versions?

Your main goal when playing Sims 3 is to keep your character happy. Most players I have spoken with have found it easier to do so in the iPhone version of the game when compared to the desktop software. After a couple days playing the game my satisfaction meter never wavered. I was at the happy level or better from the get-go, and there is no reason for me to believe that this will change as I move forward.

There is no denying that many players are going to be disappointed with the extreme simplicity of Sims 3 for iPhone. This game is probably simpler because players are interested in a casual setting as opposed to something that they have to concentrate on to win. After all, you will be playing on your phone instead of your computer.

Control

Just like everything for the iPhone, the controls for Sims 3 are relatively easy to get used to. With a touch screen you can move from one part of the game to the next without getting lost. If you are used to using your iPhone for other applications and the internet you will not have any problems navigating this game. It can be a bit tedious to continually tap the screen when you should not have to, but remember, it was built for a mobile gaming platform.

Now that you know more about how to play the game and the controls you should be ready to get started. Even though you may find this game simpler than what you are used to, it is still a lot of fun. Game play is straight forward and as interesting as any Sims game you may have played in the past.

To download the Sims 3 (US$9.99), you can simply click this direct iTunes link.

Stay tuned and keep an eye out for the third part in the Sims 3 review series!

I gave up on the game when I realized how INCREDIBLY BUGGY IT IS…. nomatter the reboots, legal game or not.. jailbroken phone or not.. it does not matter, the damned game refuses to run for more than 5 minutes without exitting to homescreen..

I had hoped that it would be a 2.2.1 issue and that it would vanish and get all goody goody when I installed the 3.0 firmware, but no.. no change.

so.. until it passes 1.0.84 build its currently at, nomatter how much you LOVE sims, if you dont want to get pissed and annoyed and just angry and feel ripped off.. I would avoid this game.. for now…
