Apple unveiled the new Macbook Pro family with the introduction of Macbook Pro 13-inch model. The 15-inch models are also refreshed with faster processor, SD card slot, Firewire-800, longer battery life (7-hours), more RAM and harddisk, but with price cut. The 15-inch entry model is now sold at US$$1,699. And, for the 13-inch model, the entry price is only US$1199.

2. The new version of Mac OS X – Snow Leopard
snow_leopardThe next version of Mac OS known as Snow Leopard will be available this Sep. As Apple mentioned, the focus of this release is to refined, not reinvented. You’ll not see some breakthrough features in this OS release. But the performance of the new OS is dramatically improved. The startup time is twice faster. Shutdown time is 75% quicker and joining wireless network is 55% faster. And, it’s usual that Snow Leopard takes up less than half the disk space of the previous version, freeing about 6GB for you.

For existing Leopard (i.e. 10.5) user, you can upgrade to Snow Leopard with just US$29. And Apple will sell the full version at US$169.

3. iPhone 3G S and iPhone 3.0

Yes, the new iPhone is here. It’s named iPhone 3G S. The “S” stands for Speed. The outlook of the new iPhone inherits the same design as the predecessor, but with much processing power, more storage (up to 32G) and supports faster network (HSDPA). It also packs with a new 3 megapixel camera that supports autofocus and lets you shoot video. The new iPhone even incorporates a digital compass and supports voice control that allows you to place a call or play a song. The iPhone 3G will be available on Jun 19 in US.

At the conference, Apple also officially announced the public release of iPhone 3.0 on Jun 17. So, mark the date and prepare to upgrade your iPhone to the latest OS.
