ContactFlow for iPhone: Navigate Contacts in Cover Flow Style

by Simon Ng on March 1, 2009

ContactFlow LogoIf you love the Cover Flow interface in iTunes and iPod, you may probably like to navigate your contact list in this style. An iPhone developer, Fafoulon, has created an iPhone application called ContactFlow that lets you flip through your contacts in Cover Flow style.

Once you launch the application, you’ll see the profile images of your contacts. By flicking your finger, you can navigate through all contacts. Simply tap on a contact, ContactFlow will flip the picture and shows you the phone numbers of the contact. You can then tap on the number to make a call or click the SMS icon to send a text message. If you’d like to write an email, simply tap the email address. Also, ContactFlow works on both portrait and landscape orientation.

ContactFlow - optionTo customize ContactFlow, you can go to “Settings” and select ContactFlow. A number of options are available for customization:

  • Contact order
  • Automatic screen rotation
  • Displaying contacts without photo – By default, ContactFlow only shows up contacts with profile image. So, if you want to display all contacts including those without images, you need to enable this option.
  • Displaying e-mail address

ContactFlow is designed for jailbroken iPhone and now available for download via Cydia. Like most Cydia applications, ContactFlow is *free*. To learn more about ContactFlow, check out this video:

I installed contactflow and when I touch the icon it appears to start then reverts back to the springboard screen. I have reinstalled it several times and the same thing always happens. Anyone have any ideas? This looks like such a cool app I would love to get it working!

If only we could merge it into the regular contacts so that we can use the missed calls, voice mail, keypad, and favorites along with it.
